  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup malt powder
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3/4 cup finely diced pecans
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped


  1. Preheat oven to 350F. 
  2. Cream butter and sugars with a mixer. Add eggs and malt powder and beat well. Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Add to batter, mixing well. Stir in pecans, vanilla and chocolate. Drop by tablespoons onto cookies sheets and bake 10 to 12 minutes.
